Inside Aaganera: Our 2026 Engineering Roadmap

Every year we publish a version of this post, and every year the honest answer to "what are you building" is a mix of visible product features and invisible platform work — and the second category usually matters more to the enterprise clients who depend on us daily, even though it rarely makes for an exciting headline. This year's roadmap is no different: real improvements to AIRS and HRish, sitting on top of platform investments that most users will never notice directly, which is exactly the point.

Deeper matching accuracy, better self-service

On the AIRS side, our biggest push this year is refining match accuracy for roles that don't fit a clean template — hybrid positions, career changers, and specialized technical roles where a purely keyword-driven approach has always struggled. We're investing in better handling of adjacent-skill equivalence and recency weighting, so a candidate's most relevant recent experience carries more signal than an older, less relevant credential. This builds directly on parsing and matching work we've shipped over the past year, and it's informed heavily by patterns our clients' recruiting teams have flagged in how shortlists actually get used day to day.

On the HRish side, the priority is expanding self-service: giving employees more of what they need — leave requests, document access, policy lookups, expense workflows — without routing every small task through an HR administrator, and making that experience genuinely usable on mobile, not just a shrunk-down desktop view. For distributed and field-based teams especially, a mobile-first self-service experience isn't a nice-to-have; it's the difference between HRish being used daily or being used only when absolutely necessary.

The platform work nobody sees, until it matters

Alongside feature work, a meaningful share of this year's engineering time is going into reliability, performance, and security hardening across both platforms — the kind of investment that never shows up in a changelog headline but is exactly what enterprise clients are quietly evaluating when they decide whether to trust us with their hiring pipeline or their employee data long-term. That includes tightening our infrastructure for peak-load resilience during high-volume hiring seasons, reducing page-load and query latency across larger datasets as client accounts scale, and ongoing security audits and hardening in line with the compliance expectations enterprise buyers hold us to. None of this is glamorous. All of it is the foundation the visible features sit on.

"The features that make headlines get built on top of the reliability work that never does. We try to give both the attention they deserve."

How client feedback shapes what we prioritize

Nearly every item on this roadmap traces back to a specific conversation with a client team using AIRS or HRish in production — a recruiting lead who flagged that certain resume formats weren't ranking well, an HR administrator who described exactly which mobile workflows their field staff avoided using because the experience was clunky, a technical stakeholder who asked pointed questions about our infrastructure resilience during a renewal conversation. We don't build in a vacuum, and we don't chase every feature request either; we look for the patterns that show up across multiple clients and prioritize those over one-off asks, because that's usually where the real leverage is.

What this roadmap is built around:

  • Matching and self-service improvements grounded in patterns we've seen across real client usage, not speculative features.
  • Platform reliability, performance, and security work treated as first-class priorities, not an afterthought behind features.
  • Prioritization driven by recurring client feedback across accounts, rather than the loudest single request.

We'll keep sharing progress on these fronts as the year goes on. If there's something specific you'd like to see in AIRS or HRish, or a platform concern you'd like us to prioritize, our team is always glad to hear it directly.
